Monday
I was not in the office today I had to go back to school today to register for classes and get some schedule stuff taken care of

Tuesday
I spent the morning in compliance. I finished cleaning out and organizing the study hall room and ran off copies of a syllabus for a PE class. Other than that, this week has been crazy for the compliance office with Students coming in to sign up for classes or fix schedules or fill out NCAA paperwork, so there was not a lot for me to do. I ran over to the football field house and picked up some signed footballs for sponsors that would be handed out that eveningIn the afternoon I went back to marketing to help out with a street fair that was held this afternoon. Different businesses/churches, etc. from the surrounding areas and different departments from Campbell set up booths and handed out information pertaining to their services. We handed out Discount cards and pocket schedules to students and gave them information pertaining to Camel Crazies and the first games of the season.

Wednesday
Wednesday was a half day for me because I had to go back to school and take care of some other details. There was not a lot for me to do today, again because Kevin and Drew have both been running around with a lot last-minute football stuff that seems to have been put off or delegated to them.

Thursday
I was in Compliance today there was a new compliance Intern today, and we both worked together to make Evaluation and contact forms for each of the coaches. It is important that the coaches know when they are allowed to call potential student athletes and when they are allowed to go watch them play.

Friday
I was back in marketing today. I ran off some copies of flyers to take over to the recreation department in Dunn and Benson on Monday. I helped Drew make a list of all the football players and numbers and hometowns for the scrolling scoreboard at the field. In the afternoon I went to the football stadium and helped them figure out how to set up the tunnel the football team will run out of on Game Day. They wanted to do a run-through of how long it would take to get it taken down and off the field on game day. This was a lot of fun because I got to see the field up close for the first time.

Monday
I was in Compliance today, Heather explained to me today that there were some athletes that they wanted to keep an extra careful eye on their academics, so they were putting them on a plan to make sure their work was taken care of. My job was to make files for all of these people today. this involved going through lists of un- alphabetized schedules and names to find their schedules and putting them into the file. Then I had to type up individual labels for each of the files and label the files. This took a little longer than I anticipated because nothing was alphabetized. I left early today because they have employee orientation this week, and no one was in the office in the afternoon for me to do any work.

Tuesday
Today I was in Sales and Marketing, I came in around 10:00 and we had a meeting with the Audio Visual Department about what we need to do as far as communication at football games. My observations pertaining to football is that there does not seem to be a big sense of urgency on the part of a lot of people as far as having things ready for the first game. Basically, all we got from this meeting is that they can order us some stuff, but we won't have it by the first game. Kevin has been mentioning this for months, but it is the first time anyone has asked us to look into anything. This meeting took about just over an hour and a half, and then I went home for the day because again they had employee orientation in the afternoon.

Wednesday
Today I was back in Compliance. I started off the morning making a few more labels for student athletes. Later I worked with Heather on a project that she was working on. She was making some sort of report working with CAi (Compliance Assistant for internet), but she left out a big part of it. I had to go through the rosters of all of the teams at Campbell and check off their ethnicity. If they were not US citizens, I had to go through and check off that # 1 they were not American, and #2 their ethncity. I had to go through and make a spreadsheet of total number of white, black, mexican people etc. on every team. It is a very important part of this report she was putting together.

Thursday
They had CPR and first aid training this morning, so I did not come in until this afternoon. This afternoon Drew( marketing assistant) and I went around the local area to practically every store/restaurant we could and handed out pocket schedules to leave at the register. We handed out approximately 10,000 schedules. We would just go in and ask if we could leave schedules at the register, and most places had no problem with it. Some places did have corporate regulations that prevented them from leaving the out for us.

Friday
Today was a bit of a crazy day for me. I was back in Compliance office this morning. They had me organizing a study hall room and sorting through a lot of stuff they had ordered for their students. It was odd for me to see a lot of this, because the athletic department at Methodist does not do anything like this. We are required to have study hall hours at Methodist, but at Campbell they order pens and pencils, USB drives, paper, etc. I had to go through all of this stuff and sort it out and put it where it belonged. I also had to rearrange the study carols and just generally make the room more navigable, because it was completely stuffed with stuff. Around 11:00 I went back over to Sales and marketing for a meeting with FCA again. They have decided to sponsor a soccer game and they wanted to find out exactly what would be required of them. I brought in my marketing plan that I more or less wrapped up and talked over it with Kevin. He gave me some of his thoughts, and I made some changes to the plan. I am planning to work a soccer game at the beginning of the season to see how it works according to the plan I came up with. After my meeting in the morning, I went back to Compliance and continued to organize the study hall room.

Saturday
This morning I went to the Lillington Recreation Departments preseason camp for Soccer and Football. I went to hand out some information for about some things we will be doing for soccer and football this year. Hopefully we will be able to develop a relationship with them and be involved with them in the future.

Week of 7/28-8/1

Monday: 10-11
Tuesday: 10-4:30
Wednesday: out of the office-bday
Thursday: 10-4:30
Friday: 9:30-2:30
20 hours

Monday

Today I was in sales because we had a meeting scheduled with The Women's soccer coach to talk about some promotional ideas. Unfortunately, the meeting was canceled because the new assistant coach came in that day and they were taking care of a lot of the paperwork and whatnot that is involved with hiring new people. I had planned to take this afternoon to go to school and take care of next semester and what not because everyone in compliance was out of the office, so I was only in the office for a short period today

Tuesday

Today I was in sales again, we rescheduled the soccer meeting for this morning. We met the new assistant and got some input as to some of the things we plan to do this year. One of the assistants volunteered to talk with some of the people at the soccer complex in Fayetteville about getting some of their teams to scrimmage at half time of our games. They also volunteered some of their equipment for us to use for some of our promotions. In the afternoon I started working on putting together the marketing calendar for Volleyball and Soccer. I focused on Soccer this afternoon. It involved looking at all of the home games for the season and planning activities for in-game, half-time, etc. It also involved deciding on theme nights for these games and what kind of trade we plan to use at each game, and how much of the trade we would use. We also had to consider that some sports have games that occur simultaneously on the same day, so as not to plan too much for one sport and draw spectators from other sports.

Wednesday
Today I was out of the office commemorating my 22nd Birthday

Thursday
Today I was in sales, I spent most of my day working on my marketing plan for soccer. It is particularly difficult to plan in-game activities for soccer because there is not really any down time in soccer. We also have some theme nights such as Faculty appreciation or Camper Reunion night that we would like to recognize on days when we have double headers, so as to have it be a part of both Women's and Men's Soccer, but it is difficult to do considering how the schedule is set up, and how it interferes with other sports. Tomorrow is the deadline to have all of the ads ready to print to be put into the game programs for the fall season. There has been a lot of emailing and making phone calls to make sure we have the right logos, and that the logos look the way our clients would like them to look. I dropped by the Compliance office this afternoon to make sure that they would have some things for me to do, because Heather was out of the office in Coaches Meetings all day long.

Friday

Today I was in Compliance, working on an event calendar for all of the activities for this semester. I made a copy with only the home games, and a copy with all of the games for this coming fall season. I will add all of the athlete seminars and meetings and guest speakers at a later date when we have more information as to when those activities will be. I went through all of the freshmen and transfers Fall Schedules to make sure we had all of them. This has a lot to do with keeping accurate track of study hall hours. It also helps keep track of their advisor's and different tests and requirements they will be responsible for during the season. I started working on an evaluation and contact log for coaches to keep track of the times it is legal for them to contact athletes as well as the number of times they have contacted each individual athlete and/or the number of times the athletes have visited campus.

Next week I will be out of town in Vermont, so there will be no update.
